Thank You for the Good Words!

A big THANK YOU to Will Parkinson of Pride-Promotions for getting the news about my book out to reviewers and blogs yesterday, the release day for What's in a Name?

Here are some of the very nice things people said about the book:

From Sinfully...Addicted to All Male Romance (formerly Sinfully Sexy Book Reviews) (5 stars):

...the witty dialogue, the fun these two men have, the way they connected, and Guy’s ability to pull out some awesome dates was all so perfect and written so well.

This book is tucked away in my favorites to pull out when I need to remember than love can happen for all of us if we look in the right place.

From Queer Town Abbey (4 stars):

Whats in a Name was different, fresh, fun and had no explicit sex.

From Love Bytes Reviews (4 1/2 stars):

Pat Henshaw has delivered a wonderful tease! I so want more, more, more! I absolutely loved this short book and can’t wait for more of the story.

From MM Good Book Reviews (5 hearts):

This is one pretty damn cool and well-written story.

I really enjoyed the pacing and the cast of characters in this book. This is the type of book you can sit back and just read without thinking too much.

From Molly Lolly (4 1/2 stars):

This book was a fun quick read.

Wonderful Graphic

Because I want to spend my time writing, I've hired Pride-Promotions to handle the bulk of my promotions.  I'm really impressed with Will so far, but was blown away today when Will sent me this graphic designed for the Starbucks giveaway.  I just love the way the beans and the cover complement each other.  Is this cool or what?  Yeah, it's cool.

Preview a Tiny Bit of the Novella

If you're like me, what you're doing today between doing actual things like cleaning up the bits and pieces of Christmas and getting ready for the New Year, you're surfing the Web and looking for something interesting and quick to read.

Well, how about this?  It's a tiny snippet of my forthcoming novella, What's in a Name?  This snippet should give you a little taste for what the novella's about, and if you're intrigued enough, you can pre-order it (and save money--always a plus).

“Okay. How’s this for a deal?” He put down his knife and fork and leaned into the table, stabbing me with his eyes. “I’ll give you a week to guess my name. Seven chances. Every day you can ask a few questions, then come up with what you think my name is. If you’re right, I’ll buy the best bike for you and teach you how to ride it.”

“And if I’m wrong?”

“You owe me a kiss.” He leaned back in satisfaction.

“A kiss? One measly kiss?”

“Oh, I don’t want the measly ones. I mean a real, God of Love kiss. Something to set my ass back a couple a notches.”

Now I really laughed. Right. Me, giving him a humdinger of a kiss? Right. Who were we kidding? Oh, well. Didn’t matter because I was going to accept his challenge.

Pre-order Available! Get a Price Break Now

This whole publishing process has been a little surreal to me.  I signed a contract, but doubted it really meant the novella would be published.  I went through each of the three edits, and still doubted.  I emailed AngstyD, the marvelous cover artist, back and forth and came out with what I think of as a kick-ass cover design, and still doubted.

But now, today, I'm beginning to believe!  Today you can pre-order the novella at a reduced price.  That must mean the novella will be published on January 21, right?

At any rate, I think readers will enjoy this little story, so I urge everyone to pre-order it as a tiny present to yourself for after the hustle-bustle of the holidays.  My tag for the book is:

A barista.  A bartender.  And love.

So order a copy and take your e-book reader to a coffee shop, and enjoy!

Happy Holidays from a Barista and a Bartender

Here's a phone photo of the holiday cards I'm sending to other Dreamspinner authors in a holiday exchange. They'll go out in the mail later this week.

From Jimmy and Guy, happy holidays to you, too!
